De Soto Grand Parade Road Closure Information

The De Soto Grand Parade is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. This year’s event features a new route and a block party on Manatee Ave. W. in front of the old courthouse in downtown Bradenton.  

 Parade staging begins at 1 p.m. The block party is scheduled for 4 p.m. Roads are expected to reopen by 11 p.m.  

Road Closures

12:01 a.m.: 

  • 12th St. W. will be closed between 3rd Ave. W. and Manatee Ave. W. for the Bradenton Market.  

  • 12th St. W. will be closed between Manatee Ave. W. and 6th Ave. W. for block party set-up.  

  • The intersection of Manatee Ave. W. and 12th St. will remain open until 1 p.m.   


1 p.m. - Parade/Block Party Staging Areas 

  • Manatee Ave. W. will be closed between 1st St. W. (US-41) and 9th St. W.

  • Manatee Ave. W. will be closed between 9th St. W. and 14th St. W.

  • 9th St. W. will remain open until 7 p.m. 

  • Parade staging area:

    • 2nd St. W. between 6th Ave. W. and Manatee Ave.

    • 3rd St. W. between 6th Ave. W. and 3rd Ave. W. will be accessible to residents and business owners only.

    • 5th St. W. between 6th Ave. W. and Manatee Ave.

    • 7th St. W. will be accessible to emergency vehicles only, between 6th Ave. W. and 3rd Ave. W.

    • 8th St. W. between 6th Ave. W and 4th Ave. W.

       

  • Block party staging area and event:

    • 12th St. W., 13th St. W., and 14th St. W. between 6th Ave. W. and 3rd Ave. W. Manatee Ave. W. will be closed between 14th St. W. and 44th St. W.  

5 p.m. - Parade Route

  • Manatee Ave. W. will be closed in both directions between 14th St. W. and 44th St. W.

7 p.m. 

  • Southbound lanes of the Green Bridge (US-41 Bus.) from Palmetto to Bradenton will be closed. The northbound lanes will remain open however drivers must access the bridge from 3rd Ave. W.  

  • 9th St. W. will be closed in both directions between 3rd Ave. W. and Manatee Ave. The intersection of 9th St. and 3rd Ave. will remain open.
