“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.
So far this year, 42 police officers have died; 18 due to gunfire. This week, we are ever mindful of our fallen brothers and sisters, and we remain eternally grateful for their sacrifice.
