92 warnings issued in first two weeks of school speed zone program

The warning period for the School Speed Zone Camera Program at Bradenton Christian School and Jessie P. Miller Elementary began on October 21, 2024. During the first two weeks of the program, 92 drivers received warnings for exceeding the speed limit by 10MPH. The warning period for these schools ends on November 20, 2024. After that, drivers will receive $100 violations. Failure to pay the violation or request a hearing within 30 days will result in a Uniform Traffic Citation (ticket).

The cameras monitor school zones during the day, starting 30 minutes before and ending 30 minutes after school. The cameras are not active outside of school hours, on holidays when there is no school, or on weekends.  

Camera installation is occurring in phases at the following schools: 

  • Bradenton Christian School – Warning Period: Monday, October 21 – Wednesday, November 20, 2024

  • Jessie P. Miller Elementary –  Warning Period: Monday, October 21 – Wednesday, November 20, 2024

  • Ballard Elementary 

  • G.D. Rogers Elementary 

  • H.S. Moody Elementary/Sugg Middle School 

  • Manatee Elementary 

  • Manatee High School 

  • Robert H. Prine Elementary 

  • Sea Breeze Elementary
