FORFEITURE GRANT PROGRAM

BRADENTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
FLORIDA CONTRABAND FORFEITURE GRANT PROGRAM

The Bradenton Police Department is pleased to announce the availability of asset forfeiture funds for appropriation to community groups and organizations. This grant program provides financial support to neighborhood agencies and organizations engaged in projects that seek to improve neighborhood safety and promote crime prevention, drug prevention, drug education, drug treatment services, or school resource programs. Neighborhood groups, associations, or organizations developing or offering specific projects to address these areas of concern can apply for funding. There are no matching fund requirements and no restrictions on funds requested or the scope of the project requesting support.

The Funding Approval Committee prefers to recommend fund allocation to several organizations or for several projects that may be small parts of a broader effort by larger organizations. Proposals may range from requests for funding of entire projects, components of a larger project, or any ongoing program or regularly held event, provided the project, program, or event meets the eligibility criteria outlined in the forfeiture application.

This program funds community groups, associations, or organizations providing services to residents within the municipal boundaries of the City of Bradenton. Because of constitutional considerations, churches may not apply directly. Subordinate organizations of a church can submit applications under their name if the subordinate organization is a recognized charitable organization and is otherwise qualified.

Since 2018, the Bradenton Police Department has provided more than $120,000 to community organizations within the City of Bradenton.
