Update: 17th St. Ct. E. Homicide

UPDATE (March 23, 2023): Michael Phillips contacted the Bradenton Police department and was interviewed by detectives. He is not considered a suspect in the murder of Dwight Sutton. Case #: 2023-002374 

The Bradenton Police Department has identified the victim of the March 19, 2023 homicide as Dwight Sutton, 56. At approximately 7 p.m., Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of 17th St. Ct. E. and located Sutton in front of a residence. Life-saving measures were performed by Officers and EMS, but Mr. Sutton was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Detectives are attempting to locate Michael Alonzo Phillips (pictured below) regarding this investigation. Phillips is not considered a suspect.
