Inaugural Bradenton Baseball Mayor’s Classic Hot Dog Eating Contest to Benefit the Bradenton Blue Foundation

The City of Bradenton is partnering with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders for what we hope will become an Independence Day celebration staple: the Bradenton Baseball Mayor’s Classic hot dog eating contest!

We are looking for 20 competitors willing to take on the challenge of downing as many hot dogs as possible in 10 minutes. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bradenton Blue Foundation, the charitable arm of the Bradenton Police Department.

  • The Bradenton Baseball Mayor’s Classic will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at LECOM Park’s Cool Today Lounge. The Bradenton Marauders game begins at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks will follow the game.

  • There is a $25 entry fee. Competitors will receive an official Mayor’s Classic t-shirt.

  • The first-place winner receives a trophy and $300. The second-place winner receives $200, and the third-place winner receives $100.

The Rules:

  • Ketchup, mustard, and other condiments are not allowed.

  • Water will be provided.

  • The competitor who eats the most hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes wins.

Competitors must register in advance by contacting Bradenton Police Department Captain Brian Thiers at brian.thiers@bradentonpd.com or 941-932-9364.

The inaugural Bradenton Baseball Mayor’s Classic Hot Dog Eating Contest is scheduled for July 3.
