9/11/2021 shooting suspect arrested
UPDATE: Earlier today, with the assistance of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshall’s Office, Shamar Dequez Johnson was taken into custody without incident in the 4800 block of 51st St W, near the original crime scene. He has been transported to the Manatee County Jail and charged with Second Degree Murder.

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11:52 AM, Bradenton PD officers responded to the 4800 block of 51st St W for a report of a shooting. Arriving officers found 26-year-old Cecil V. Richardson of Bradenton with gunshot injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.
Detectives were able to identify two suspects in this case. The first suspect, Chanelle Michelle Lawson of Bradenton, was taken into custody Saturday and charged with Second Degree Murder. The second suspect, Shamar Dequez Johnson of Bradenton, has active warrants for Second Degree Murder. Johnson is considered armed and dangerous.
