Suspect identified in Regions Bank robbery

UPDATE (10/19/23 6 p.m.): Barnes is in the custody of the Bradenton Police Department. He will be taken to the Manatee County jail.

UPDATE (10/19/23) The Bradenton Police Department is attempting to locate 23-year-old Jaquez Deon Barnes. Detectives have developed probable cause to arrest Barnes for the robbery at Regions Bank, 5009 Manatee Ave. E., Thursday morning. The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a robbery at Regions Bank, 5009 Manatee Ave. E. (SR-64).

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the suspect passed a note demanding money to a bank teller and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect did not display a weapon, and no one was injured. Several customers were in the bank at the time.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-to-late 20s with a thin build. He was wearing pink pants and a gray sweater. He had long, black hair, which may be a wig.
