February 2, 2025

Case #: 2025-000786

Shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, officers responded to a report of horses running eastbound on the Palma Sola Causeway. Seven horses owned by Carousel Sea Horses were beginning a beach ride near the 8400 block of Manatee Ave. W. when the guide's horse was spooked. The other horses became frightened as well. All the riders were then thrown off or jumped from their horses.

EMS transported two riders to a local hospital for evaluation for possible neck and arm injuries.

A short time later, the horses were corralled behind a home in the 7800 block of Manatee Ave. W. and then secured in the company's trailer.

BPD provided traffic control and documented the incident. This is not a criminal investigation.
