Sixth suspect arrested, charged with murder in Jan. 23, 2023 shooting

Mekhi Booker, 18, has been arrested on his outstanding warrant for second-degree murder and robbery in connection with the January 23, 2023, shooting on 10th Avenue W., during which more than 60 shots were fired. Booker is the sixth suspect arrested and charged with murder in this case. A warrant is active for a seventh suspect, Kobe Brooks, 19.

According to Bradenton Police detectives, multiple suspects arrived at the home in the 100 block of 10th Ave. W. to commit an armed robbery. During the robbery, the suspects opened fire, striking three victims. One of the victims, a 23-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries on January 31. The victims’ identities are not being released per Marsy’s Law.

In addition to Mekhi Booker, the following individuals are in custody and charged with armed robbery and murder:

Shamar Mobley, 20
