$14,500 reward offered in 17th St. Ct. E. homicide

The reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the murder of Dwight Sutton has increased to $14,500. At approximately 7 p.m. on March 19, 2023, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of 17th St. Ct. E. Upon arrival, officers located Sutton, 56, in front of a residence. Mr. Sutton was pronounced deceased on the scene.  

The following rewards, totaling up to $14,500, are offered:  

  • Up to $5,000 from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Star Club of Manatee County for information leading to an arrest in this case.  

  • Up to $3,000 for information leading to an arrest from Crime Stoppers of Manatee County, Inc.  

  • Up to $6,500 for information leading to an arrest from the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers. To receive this enhanced reward, you must submit your tips by June 30, 2023.  

You must contact the Gold Star Club or Crime Stoppers before contacting law enforcement to qualify for these rewards.
