Driver charged with DUI Manslaughter following pedestrian crash

Nicole Brennan, 50, of Bradenton, has been charged in a deadly crash that occurred on Monday, December 19.
According to Traffic Homicide Investigators, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the 19th, Brennan struck a pedestrian in the 1400 block of 26th St. W., causing significant, life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was transported to Blake Medical Center as a trauma alert, and Brennan, who refused to submit to a Breath Alcohol Test, was arrested on scene for DUI Crash with Serious Bodily Injury and possession of a controlled substance. A warrant for a blood sample was obtained, and the results of toxicology tests are pending. The victim succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, Dec. 22, and a new warrant was obtained for Brennan, upgrading the charges from DUI Crash with Serious Bodily Injury to DUI Manslaughter.
