Hit-and-run involving pedestrian

On November 30, 2021, at approximately 5:50 PM, a crash occurred in the 900 block of 1st St W involving a vehicle and pedestrian. Per witnesses, the pedestrian was seen outside the crosswalk walking east across 1st St, where crossing is not permitted. Cars in two of the three lanes of travel slowed to avoid hitting the pedestrian. A vehicle in the third lane was unable to slow, and hit the pedestrian. The crash vehicle, described as a white Chevrolet Tahoe with dark tinted windows and chrome rims, left the scene. The vehicle will have extensive front-end damage.

The pedestrian is still in critical condition at a local hospital.
