Lower your radio volume beginning July 1

Starting July 1, 2022, Florida State Statute 316.3045 will once again become enforceable. This means if people can hear music coming from your car from 25 feet away, it’s too loud. Therefore, you will have to listen to your radio at a volume that is not plainly audible at a distance of 25 feet or more.

Bradenton Police officers will be give warnings to educate drivers within Bradenton city limits about the law until Friday July 1, after which citations will be issued.

House Bill 1435, signed into law by Governor DeSantis, and which became effective May 26, 2022, included amendments to FS 316.3045, to remove a portion of the statute that the Florida Supreme Court deemed invalid in 2012. The text of Florida State Statute 316.3045 (2021) is available at this link.
