A Memorial Service for Bradenton Police Sergeant Lee Cosens will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, in the main sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 1306 Manatee Avenue W., Bradenton.  The services will be live-streamed at www.firstbradenton.com

Sergeant Cosens passed away following a two-year battle with Stage IV metastatic kidney cancer on April 16, 2023, one day shy of his 40th birthday. Lee was a member of the Bradenton Police Department for nearly 11 years, as a patrol officer, detective, and patrol sergeant. He was also the departmentโ€™s lead Hostage Negotiator and a member of the Marine Unit. Lee served in the U.S. Army with the 293rd Military Police Company from 2007-2012, including a tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan from 2009-2010. He was passionate about advocating for military and police officers and was a representative for the Police Benevolent Association.

Lee was a loving husband to his wife, Amy, and a devoted father to his two young daughters.
