Murder charges filed in 10th Ave. W. shooting

One of three victims of a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of 10th Avenue W. on January 23, 2023, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, January 31. The victim, a 28-year-old black male, had been hospitalized since the shooting. A second victim remains hospitalized. The third victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

As this is now a homicide investigation, charges previously filed in this case will be amended.  

  • Kevion Brooks, 22, was arrested Tuesday, January 31, and charged with murder. Brooks is currently in custody in Hillsborough County. 

  • Jerome Williams, 20, is now charged with murder. He is in custody in Manatee County. 

  • Tyreak Allen, 20, is now charged with murder. He is in custody in Manatee County.  

 Additionally, four others have previously been charged in this case, and will face additional charges. More information will be released when possible.  

It’s believed that at approximately 5 p.m. on January 23, the suspects approached a home on 10th Avenue W. and encountered the victims. At least 50 rounds were fired, before several people fled from the scene. Bradenton Police officers recovered one of the vehicles spotted shortly after the shooting, after it crashed near the intersection of 13th Avenue W. and 1st Street/US-301. The driver and passengers ran from officers but were detained a short time later.
