Suspect arrested in Oct. 29 homicide

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide outside the La Barkania Bar and Restaurant in Bradenton on Saturday, October 29. 

Mario R. Alba-Reyes, 26, was arrested by members of the Bradenton Police Department and Manatee County Homicide Unit on November 4, 2022. Alba-Reyes is charged with Second Degree Murder with a firearm.

Bradenton Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:40 p.m. Saturday, in the 2200-block of 9th St. W. and located the victim, Domingo D. Mendez, 41. Detectives later determined that Mendez left the La Barkania Bar and Restaurant, located at 2209 9th St W., shortly before the shooting occurred. Mendez died from his injuries on October 31.
